After finishing the previous book, A Psalm for the Wild-Built, I learned of this book the sequel. I enjoyed the first so I figured this book would be just as enjoyable. Luckily enough it was on the self at my local library right next to the previous one.
The story starts where the first book left off. The main characters Dex and Mosscap have finished their journey into the wilds as they previously agreed upon. The other half of their agreement was for Dex to escort Mosscap to different towns and the city so Mosscap can interact with people and find out what they need and how they are doing. Together they travel to different towns and we see peoples reaction to Mosscap and the opposite Mosscap's reaction to people and towns. Just like the first book while they are on their travels they have many thought provoking conversations about the world and the purpose of their own lives.
This book is just like the first with a interest and simple story but immersed in philosophical conversations and ideas that will test your own beliefs or ideas. If you enjoyed the first book then you have to read this as well and continue on the journey with Dex and Mosscap. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for more than a simple story, but instead seeks to push the boundaries of your own thoughts.
